1) Good knowledge and recommendations - If I am going to a new place in Thailand or am sick of my usual hotel, Tim can always recommend a hotel and his recommendations are always spot-on (he obviously did the leg-work to check out the hotel first!). In the rare event that Tim does not know, he tells you. No BS just for sales sake.
2) Good Price - Back in the Thaihoteldiscounts days, Tim always have the best rates. Now with the 5% off the Agoda rate... I don't think I need to say more.
3) Service - Plenty of Travel Agents might be able to give good recommendations or give you a good price. However no one can beat Tim in terms of service. There was once when I overpaid by mistake. Tim not only refunded the additional amount, but even personally delivered it to the hotel. Not more I can say about that. Shame that I was travelling then and wasn't able to meet him and buy him a beer for all his help through the years.
